How to Download TikTok Videos on iPhone (Without the App's Watermark)

iPhones make downloading video deliberately awkward. Apple wants media going through Apple's apps, and TikTok's own save option only appears when a creator allows it — then stamps a watermark on top. Here's the straightforward path that works on any iPhone with iOS 13 or later, using nothing but Safari.

Start in the TikTok app: find the video, tap the Share arrow (the one that looks like a box with an arrow pointing up), and tap Copy link. The link lands on your clipboard — you'll see a small 'Copied' confirmation. Nothing is downloaded yet; the link is just an address.

Open Safari and come to this site. Tap the paste box once, then tap Paste — the page picks up the link automatically and shows you the video's thumbnail with download buttons underneath. Tap the MP4 button. Safari will ask if you want to download; confirm, and the file starts downloading.

Now the part that confuses everyone: the file doesn't go to your Photos app. Safari saves downloads to the Files app. Tap the Files icon (a blue folder on your home screen), choose On My iPhone or iCloud Drive, then Downloads. Your video is there, as a clean MP4. From Files you can share it anywhere, AirDrop it to a Mac, or use the share sheet's Save to Photos to copy it into your camera roll.

If the download seems to hang, check two things. First, make sure Low Data Mode isn't on for your connection — Safari sometimes stalls large downloads with it enabled. Second, iOS 12 and older can't save files from the browser at all because of how Apple locked down downloads in older Safari versions; updating iOS fixes it. And as always: private accounts can't be downloaded, by anyone, by design.
